Leroy lives in Santa Rosa and fixes fences. He was talking about some of the vets that live in the Santa Rosa area. His horse’s name is Blondie.
For my new followers who I haven’t bugged about this yet - the reason I’m traveling through the southwest right now is to meet, interview, film and photograph the veterans of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan which we’re going to make a collection of photographs documenting the experience and a 90 minute film which will tell the story of veterans re-connecting to the country they’ve served. You can see more here.

Things have been quiet on here. I finished my first year of grad school (!!) and then immediately started to prepare work for a show I have opening Saturday. When this is done, I’ll get back to the internet.
My friend Greg Ruffing did some writing about my new work, and includes a conversation we had while I’ve been working on the install. He did a great job with this, I’m super grateful for it. If you have a moment, take a look, I talk about the work in the show and the book project I’ll be working on all summer.
And if you live in Chicago, come to my show, I’ll be eternally grateful.
